Family Guy.

Family Guy, is one of the most popular adult cartoon shows of our age. Everyone from high school kids to college kids watch it. Now the question I am here to ask is should younger children be allowed to watch Family Guy. Everyone knows the kind of language you get in the show, and if you dont know, it involves tons of swearing and tons of sexual jokes. On multiple occasions Peter Griffin, the main character, makes fun of "retarded" people. Saying since he is actually a retard himself, he is allowed to do so. Is this the message we want to give children, that its funny to make fun of retarded people? Family Guy also has a character on the show named Herbert. Herbert is an old man, who acts as a child molester in the show. On multiple occasions we see him try to get with Chris Griffin, or other random male children. Now, Family Guy has been cancelled twice by Fox, but they always bring it back because of the ratings it gets. I understand why they bring it back, its a great show and people love it, but is it a safe show? Kids are very impressionable, and watching Family Guy isnt really a good idea for them. In some episodes of the show you see it can be very antisemitic. Like in the episodes "When You Wish Upon a Weinstein" the show actually got sued for breaking copyright laws with the song "When You Wish Upon a Star" in this episode. The whole episode is about stereotypes with Jews.  Now I am not saying Family Guy should be cancelled, personally I love the show. I am saying that parents should monitor what their kids watch. Family Guy is filled with dark humor, sexual jokes and thing that kids should watch yet. They need to still be watching the good cartoons like Tom and Jerry, Rugrats, Looney Toons so they can appreciate the new ones.

Music..

 I love everything about music to be honest, I love the lyrics and the instrumentals. Ive played electric guitar, bass guitar and acoustic guitar for seven years now. Playing always makes me feel better. I use to be in a band, but I had to quit because I went to college. I had tons of fun playing shows and watching other bands play. This summer though is going to be great, I am going to three concerts. Ill be going to see Motion City Sound Track up at Penn State Behrend, with two of my best friends. Motion City is one of my favorite bands, they are the reason I formed the old band I was in. The next thing would be Warped Tour, which is a giant concert with tons of bands and last the whole day, its a charity event. Lastly, the concert I am the most excited for would be Taylor Swift! The concert is on June 18th, I am so excited. She is a lyrical genius and I love her.   


Music isn't just something to just listen too, it can also be something to help you when you are stressed out. Music soothes the mind and gives it rest, research has shown that some music with a strong beat can help you concentrate better. Video Games

I have been doing a lot of gaming lately, so i decided to talk about the gaming stations. Now for everyone who doesn't know, the Xbox 360 is a Microsoft product. It can come in either white or black and with different size hard drives. The bigger the hard drive the more expensive the system. The 360 has tons of great games, my favorite is the Halo series or Call of Duty, both of which are extremely popular. The 360 comes with two wireless controllers and a wired head set that connects to the bottom of your controller. This allows you to communicate with other players when you are playing Xbox live. Xbox live allows you to play with other players that have the 360 and Xbox live. Though it costs you 50 dollars a month, I personally think its worth it. The next gaming station is the PlayStation 3, this console comes in black. It is the most expensive of all three. The reason being is that it doubles as a blue ray player. Now Sony decided to give back to all us gamers by giving the PlayStation 3 the PlayStation Network, or in other words, free online play. This is great for all of the gamers out there who love playing online. If you're willing to pay the price for the system, its the best choice. Next is the Nintendo Wii, which i personally love. The Wii was the first system to really master motion gaming. With things like Wii fit or games like Super Mario Brothers you didn't really need a wired controller. It's true when people say the Nintendo Wii is more like a kids system because of all the games they come out with. Nintendo's target audience has always been younger kids. They make games that are not violent and are user friendly. So when people ask "whats the best system is for me" it all really comes down to what you enjoy the most.
